The Million Dollar Round Table is an international, independent association of more than 35,000 members, or less than 1 percent, of the world's most successful life insurance and financial services professionals from 476 companies in 76 nations and territories. MDRT members demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. New York Life has led the MDRT in total number of members for over 50 years.
The American College
The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1927, and is an accredited educational institution that provides graduate and professional education to professionals in the financial services field. The American College grants the ChFC® and CLU® designations.
Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®)
Designed for immediate, real-world application, the financial planning strategies taught in the Chartered Financial Consultant®(ChFC®) program prepare designees to advise a full range of potential clients on a diverse set of financial matters.
Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®)
For nearly 100 years, the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation has helped insurance and financial professionals seeking the knowledge they need to succeed in the life insurance field. Through the program, designees gain an in-depth understanding of the practical, legal, and ethical aspects of life insurance and learn how to provide the best solutions to a modern and diverse clientele facing a range of risks and financial situations.
The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC)
The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils is a national organization of professional estate planners and affiliated Estate Planning Councils focused on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards. George Nelson Ridings is a member of this and the Lexington-based Bluegrass Estate Planning Council, and was elected to serve as President-Elect for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.
Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®)
The AEP® designation is a graduate-level specialization in estate planning, obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning who support the team concept of estate planning. It is awarded to estate planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education, professional reputation, and character.
Certification in Long-Term Care (CLTC)
George Nelson Ridings received the CLTC designation in December 2008 after completing a seven-part multidisciplinary course focusing on the professionalism of long-term care, rather than the selling of insurance products. Students must pass a written exam; have a certificate of good standing, or its equivalent, from the student's state insurance authority; and sign an affidavit, under oath, stating he or she has not had a judgment relating to fraudulent behavior in their profession entered against him or her in the past five years. The CLTC designation is approved by the American Council on Education and affiliated with and endorsed by the College for Financial Planning.
National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA)
The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors is a national non-profit association founded in 1890 to support insurance and financial advisers, as well as their clients. Both agents are members of NAIFA.
Society of Financial Services Professionals (SFSP)
The Society of Financial Services Professionals is a national organization of credentialed insurance and financial advisers. Both agents are members of SFSP.
